An atypical cheese wholesaler...
Our story begins with my own. I'm Laurent GERENTES, grandson of the founder of the GERENTES dairy. After studying food processing, I worked for a few years at the dairy, which was later taken over by my brother Didier and my cousin Pierre.
In 2001, I opened the Monistrol-sur-Loire store: "LE COMPTOIR DU PÊCHER". I sell the products made by Gérentes, and I add other products that my customers want. I began to buy from local wholesalers, but as my volume of purchases increased, I began to buy direct, in France and even a little further afield.
Meanwhile, the dairy opens new outlets in the Rhone Valley. Around 2010, I propose a whole range of complementary products to Gérentes stores. Le Plateau du Fromager was born!
The big turning point comes in 2020 with the creation of a logistics depot in Yssingeaux.
